CLUB RECORD ALERT! 

With lots and lots of happenings at the club across lots of ages, disciplines, governance, and otherwise, we’ve been collecting plenty of club records along the way and haven’t yet given the credit they deserve!

Let’s kick things off with the incredible @helenjpavey ! Helen is an absolute marathon superstar and last year ran her 9th (yes, NINTH) @londonmarathon – wow! This alone deserves huge credit…

Being the current V50W club record holder at the time, she only went and smashed it again, clocking 3:16:51, taking 37 seconds from her previous record.

Helen had this to say: “That was my 13th (marathon) overall. My dream is to get 3:15 and training this year went really well. I had a really consistent race on Sunday and was very pleased with that.

I was hoping to get 3:15 but I think the heat and sunshine put paid to that. Finishing time was 3:16:51 – am thrilled as I’m right at the top of the age group (54).

The crowds were amazing as always. It was great to see Wellies along the course – and so special to see people you know. My daughter and granddaughter were at mile 17 which was extra special.”

Helen beat her own club record (of 3:17:28, from London, 2023 as mentioned) to achieve this amazing feat, and has her name once more written into the history books of Lincoln Wellington AC.
