CLUB RECORD!
Posted on: February 24, 2026 by Ian Boyle Share this postOur next installment of club record comes courtesy of @willrs12 and his V35M record at @heckingtonshow 10 mile road race last year. Will is no stranger to endurance running, and led from gun to tape in this one, clocking 50:16!

Will took almost a minute from the previous record (held by, you guessed it, Will himself), from Pocklington back in 2023. He finished around 2 minutes ahead of second place.
He has set his sights on breaking the outright 10 mile road record, which has stood since 1963 (N. Clarke, Holbech), coming in at a mega 49:36. Will had this to say:
“I went into the Heckington 10 mile not quite knowing what to expect, having focused most of my training on the 5k over the summer, with plenty of speed work in the build-up.
My aim was to hold 5-min/mile pace for as long as possible and see how it unfolded. It turned out better than I’d hoped, with near-perfect conditions certainly playing their part.
With the overall club record of 49:36 having stood since 1963, it’s incredibly motivating to be running at a level where that mark feels almost within reach for me.”
Let’s all give Will a huge congratulations and watch this space for the 63-year record. Will it be broken this year? Let us know your thoughts…
