CLUB RECORD UPDATE
Posted on: February 20, 2026 by Ian Boyle Share this postLet’s keep the success stories coming. Abbie Donnelly delivered a standout performance at the @frankfurtmarathon on 26 October 2025, finishing in 8th place overall in the women’s elite field (1st non-African) with a time of 2:24:11.
Her time moved her to 7th on the UK all-time list for the women’s marathon. She was also the first European finisher in the race and put her only 11 seconds off the Olympic standard with some time to achieve it, and @londonmarathon just around the corner.
This was only her second competitive marathon, following a 2:26:21 debut in Rotterdam earlier in 2025, which broke the club record, previously held and broken multiple times by marathon maestro, @charliehan1 (2:43:40 from London, 2024).
She maintained a consistent pace, crossing the halfway mark at 1:12:17 making it a negative split with the second half producing a 1:11:54, averaging 3:26/km for 42.2km!
As a result of this performance, Donnelly has been selected to represent @teamgb in the marathon at the 2026 European Athletics Championships in Birmingham.
