LWAC: England Athletics Club of the Year!
Posted on: October 20, 2025 by Ian Boyle Share this postWe are extremely proud that we can finally announce ourselves as England Athletics Club of the Year for the East Midlands, 2025.
The club has been recognised at the recent Regional Volunteer Awards, which were held in Nottingham, which also saw the regional forum held. This included a speech from Mabel Akande about her introduction and progression with athletics, and a long service award (40 years!) to EA representative, and club President, Terry Timmis.

Thank you to each and every member, parent, volunteer, coach, athlete, and supporter, for the key roles that you all play in making this happen.
The award is based on governance, compliance, member engagement, amongst many other aspects of club structure.
