Mabel Wins in Nantes

Let’s kick things off: Congratulations to @mabel_akande for her superb win in Nantes at the Indoor Meeting last week.

Mabel qualified safely from her heat in first place with a 7.34s clocking over the 60m distance, coming from behind to look strong and comfortably see herself on the start list for the final.

She showed her class against a highly competitive senior field by storming home to win the final in 7.25s, just 0.01s from her personal best at the Indoor distance. Commentators speculated whether the U20 athlete would return next year as a senior and attempt the meeting record, which Mabel was only one-tenth of a second from this year.

She is going from strength to strength after her @ukafutures programme re-selection, and European silver medal at 100m. Most recently however, she smashed the @northernathletics indoor 60m Championship Record, showing her talent and ability consistently.
