ESAA T&F Champs

The @englishschoolsaa T&F Champs took place on 11th & 12th July this year at Birmingham’s Alexander Stadium.
This event showcases the best talent in the country’s school system, with qualification from local, district, and regional level needed to compete.
LWAC had representation from a number of athletes and the results were as follows:
@islap_run ran a 4:35.85 (missing the national standard in the distance by less than a second) in the intermediate girls 1500m heats. In a two horse race where both would secure qualification to the final, the recent National Age Group runner up finished 2nd to give herself a great chance in the final the next day. In the final she ran a 4:38.24 in blistering heat to finish 9th after doing alot of the hard work in the race.
@xellarose_whitworthx ran a 10:20.28 for 15th place in the intermediate girls 3000m final. In tough conditions, and on the comeback trail, the Adidas athlete took a spike to the leg early on and battled through heroically to give a strong finish to the race, with team mate representing Leicester shore & Rutland, @phoebelanglands finishing 8th in 10:08.92.
@chloe_fields011 went in the intermediate girls discus and threw 29.81m for 12th place on the opening day. @_faithtaylor4 ran in the senior girls 3000m, with a 10:18.85 and 12th place for the National XC Champs runner-up. @xhollyurquhart went in the intermediate girls 300m and posted a 42.37s time to see her finish in 7th place in the heat!
@ameliethorpe_ ran 69.52s for 6th position in the senior girls 400mH. @florencel_runs also competed, for Nottinghamshire in the junior girls 1500m, placing 6th with a time of 4:44.64.
@mollie.grant27 then secured her place in the intermediate girls 800m final with a 2:09.63, expertly crafting the race to finish strong and qualify comfortably. In the final she raced a 2:08.26 to win the English Schools title, again, crafting the race tactics to perfection to place 1st, booking her spot on Team England for SIAB.
